Creating 3D Titles in Final Cut Pro X

Step 1: Drag the Text to Your Timeline

To get started, drag the Tumble 3D text effect into your timeline. You’ll find this effect under the Titles tab — it’s the one with the large “T” icon. When you drag the file into your timeline, you’ll be prompted to name the resolution and framerate of your timeline. Choose whatever is appropriate for your project. In our example, we’re using 1080p HD at 23.98 frames per second.

Step 2: Stylize the Text

With your text selected in the timeline, navigate to the Text tab in the Inspector window at the top right of the Final Cut Pro window. From this tab you can adjust all the various parameters that are going to make your text awesome. Pick a font that looks great on screen.

For our example we’ll use the font called Marion. Perform the following steps to make your titles look exactly like our example:

  • Increase the Depth
  • Round the Depth to 40
  • Change the Bevel Edge type to Round
  • Increase the Edge Size to 3.3
  • Change the Lighting Style to Diagonal Right
  • Turn the Lighting Intensity Down to 20%
  • Change the Custom Environment Map to ‘Soft Box Above’
  • Increase the Intensity of the Lighting to 190%
  • Change Your Material to Metal>Brushed Circular
  • Select Multiple from the Materials Menu
  • Change the Side Material to Metal>Old Steel

Step 3: Keyframe a Drift

Pro

Under the Videotab, add a scale keyframe by hitting the plus icon on the first frame. Move forward about five seconds and scale down the footage to create a drifting effect.

Step 4: Add the Background

Now it’s time to add your background. You can do this by simply dragging your background video elementdown from your Clips panel.

Step 5: Add the Flare Element

Proemitter 3d Tools For Final Cut Pro X Download Free Mac

Drag your flare element into your composition. In our example, we had our flare over the text for a few frames, then below for the remainder of its duration. Change the BlendingMode to Add.

Step 6: Apply Some Quick Color Correction

Proemitter 3d tools for final cut pro x download free download

To make your text blend better with your background, apply the Color Correction effect to your text and change the levels as needed.

This is, of course, one of the many ways to stylize 3D titles in Final Cut Pro X. For additional Final Cut Pro tutorials, check out our Final Cut Pro X page here on PremiumBeat.

Autodesk Maya (LT) 2020.1 Multililingual MacOS

The Autodesk products team is pleased to announce the availability of Maya LT 2020. This release includes improved Cached Playback improvements, as well as new features and improvements in Animation, Rigging, Modeling, and Lighting. It provides many performance enhancements as well as bug fixes, including fixes delivered in Maya and Maya LT 2019.1 and 2019.2 updates.

Welcome to Maya and Maya LT 2020. These release notes describe known limitations, issues, and fixes in Autodesk Maya, Maya LT, or both.

For the full list of new and improved features, and fixed bugs please refer to the release notes located here

Autodesk has released Maya 2020, the latest version of its 3D animation software, extending the cached playback system to support simulations, and updating the Bifrost for Maya multiphysics plugin.

The release also adds Remesh and Retopologize tools, support for a new matrix-driven rigging workflow, a GPU-based Proximity Wrap deformer and a new system of animation bookmarks.

The retopology tools and improvements to animation workflow also feature in Maya LT 2020, the latest version of the cut-down edition of Maya aimed at games artists.

In related news, Autodesk has released Arnold 6, the latest version of the renderer, officially making Arnold GPU, its new GPU rendering system, available as a stable production release.

What’s New:

This release provides new tools and updates to help animators, modelers, riggers, and technical artists be more efficient and productive so they can spend more time on the creative.

There’s no denying there is a lot here for animators to be happy аbout: over sixty new animation features build on the Maya 2019 release, plus new Time Slider bookmarks to help you organize your work in time and playback ranges. Updates to Cached Playback provide new preview modes and efficient caching for image planes and dynamics, giving you faster playback and more predictable results.

New Remesh and Retopologize commands let modelers spend less time cleaning up models, and for riggers and character TDs, we have new matrix-driven workflows plus a new wrap deformer. Overall, we hope you’ll notice a smoother overall experience with the viewport, now that we’ve made some improvements that make more efficient use of your hardware.

Arnold GPU rendering is freshly out of beta and included with Maya 2020, alongside the new version of Bifrost that delivers significant performance improvements and several new pre-build graphs.

Autodesk has posted lists of new features in Maya 2020.2 and Maya LT 2020.2 in the online documentation for the 3D modelling and animation software.

Changes common to both versions include workflow updates to the Outliner, a new Preserve UVs setting for Target Welds, and the option to run Viewport 2.0 in OpenGL mode on a remote desktop.

Outside the core application, the Maya to Arnold plugin now supports USD export and the option to render much larger scences generated by Maya’s Bifrost fluid simulation toolset.

Updated: Autodesk has tweeted to say that Maya 2020.2 is now available to download.

Maya 2020.2 and Maya LT 2020.2: updates to the Outliner
Compared to recent updates, the feature lists for both Maya 2020.2 and Maya LT 2020.2 are fairly short, and consist primarily of workflow improvements.

The main Outliner gets a new vertical splitter bar in addition to the existing horizontal splitter, helping to optimise use of interface space when working with complex scenes, as shown in the image above.

Users can also now create Sets and Quick Select Sets of scene objects from the Outliner contextual menu, as well as from the Create menu.

Maya 2020.2 and Maya LT 2020.2: new Preserve UVs option for Target Welds
Other changes include a new Preserve UVs option for the Target Weld tool, which enables users to choose whether the UVs of a model are modified by Target Welds, as shown above.

Users with Nvidia GPUs can also now run Viewport 2.0 in OpenGL mode when working on a remote desktop, instead of Maya automatically switching to DirectX 11 mode.

Maya 2020.2 only: reserve namespaces for file references
When working with referenced files, it is now possible to reserve a namespace for a reference even when the reference itself is not loaded, preventing it from being used inadvertently by other nodes.

Updates to the Maya to Arnold, Bifrost and Substance plugins
Outside the core application, Maya to Arnold (MtoA), the integration plugin for Autodesk’s Arnold renderer, gets the option to export Arnold scene data in USD format.

MtoA 4.0.3, released last month, also makes it possible to render scenes generated with Maya’s Bifrost simulation toolset containing geometry larger than 4GB.

The Bifrost for Maya plugin itself has also been updated, although 2.0.5.1 is a bugfix release.

According to the documentation, Adobe has also updated the Substance in Maya plugin, which makes it possible to edit materials in Substance Designer’s .sbsar format inside Maya.

At the time of writing, version 2.1.2 hasn’t been added to the online release notes, but it features “new scripting commands, an upgraded user interface [and] bug fixes”.

Pricing and availability
Maya 2020.2 is available for Windows 7/10, RHEL/CentOS 7.3-7.7 Linux and macOS 10.13+ on a rental-only basis. Since the previous release, the price of subscriptions has risen to $205/month or $1,620/year.

You are using MS Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013 or 2010 smoothly to manage your emails, messages, and other email accounts, but then you suddenly start receiving errors while opening Outlook. Errors like “unable to open Outlook PST file,” or “Outlook PST file is not a personal folder file” often become a major obstacle for users in accessing their Outlook data. In such situations, people run toward Microsoft or third-party solutions to fix the Outlook errors.

When you look for solutions related to Outlook PST repairing, you will find a lot of options to fix the PST files. But do you think all those solutions work every time? What if the reason behind your PST file corruption is something related to your system configuration?

Instant Solution

Try automated tool Kernel for Outlook PST Repair to repair Outlook 2019 corrupt PST file. It supports Office 365 Outlook, 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007.

There could be various reasons behind the Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013 or 2010 PST file corruption. And you should look for a PST repair solution based on that corruption reason. For example, the most common reasons behind PST file corruption are:

  • Due to data storage device failure
  • If the hard disk on your system has some bad sectors, and the PST file is stored in any of these sectors, chances are you won’t be able to open and read your PST files with Outlook.

  • Faulty networking device
  • As you know, a PST resides on the network server, and you try to access it via a client computer or network links. So, if any of the networking devices is not working properly or have issues, then the remote access to PST file can make it corrupted.

  • Virus or malware infection
  • Our system is always prone to virus attacks and malware, which might affect the functionality of PST files and make them inaccessible. So, having a reliable anti-virus on your system is recommended.

  • Abruptly shutting down Outlook
  • We often tend to shut down Outlook abnormally when we are in a hurry. But we forget that doing so makes the PST file prone to corruption errors. Thus, you should always close Outlook normally.

These are some of the reasons that define how a PST file gets corrupted. However, sometimes there are problems with the Outlook program as well, such as if the PST file size is too big, MS Outlook becomes unstable to handle it while making the file corrupted.

Now, let’s come to the main discussion – repairing corrupt Outlook 2019, 2016, or 2013 PST files. In this article, we will be covering the effective methods to repair corrupt/damaged or inaccessible PST files.

Methods to repair Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013 and 2010 PST File

Generally, there are two reliable methods that can be used to repair corrupt PST files. The first method, i.e., the manual method involves using the inbuilt utility “ScanPST,” provided by Microsoft. The second method is third-party software.

1st Method – Repair Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013 and 2010 with ScanPST

Also known as Inbox Repair tool, ScanPST allows you to repair corrupt/damaged PST files. You can access this inbuilt utility from your computer drive.

  • For Outlook 2019/2016/2013/2010
    C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice16
    C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14

Now, follow the below steps to use the ScanPST software.

    1. Double-click on the launcher to start the ScanPST tool.
    2. Click Browse to add the PST file that you want to repair, and then click Start to scan the file.
    3. Once the scanning is complete, hit the Repair button to start the repairing process.
    4. Note: To create a backup for this PST file, check the checkbox “Make a backup of scanned file before repairing.”

    5. It will take a few seconds for the ScanPST tool to repair the PST file. After fixing the file, you can import it to Outlook.
  • However, if you still face any after importing to Outlook, it means the PST file is not repaired properly. So, we have an alternative solution of Scanpst.exe for you.

2nd Method-Kernel Outlook PST Repair

It is an advanced Outlook PST repair tool that allows you to access your corrupt/damaged PST files by repairing it quickly with smart algorithms. With this software, you can retrieve lost/deleted mailbox items and export them in different formats. Now, let’s get to the working process of this tool:

  1. After downloading the software, install it on your system.
  2. On launching the software, a pop-up window will appear on the screen. Click Browse to select the file that you want to repair, and click “Next.”
  3. Note: You can also find the specific PST files by clicking the Search button.

  4. The tool will start repairing the PST file. Once it is complete, you will be able to see the content of PST file in the left pane. You can preview the emails/items of the file by selecting any folder.
  5. To save the repaired PST file, click Save. A pop-up window will appear on the screen, select the PST file option, and click Next.
  6. The filtration window will appear on the screen, apply specific filters to the PST file, such as From, To, Subject, Item type, etc. and click Next after applying the filters.
  7. In the next step, if you want to split the PST file, then use the Split option, and then click Next.
  8. Select a location to save the recovered PST file and click Finish.
  9. A notification will appear on the screen confirming “PST file has been saved.” Click “OK” to end the process.

And that’s how you can repair the corrupt/damaged PST files for any Outlook version.

Conclusion

Repairing corrupt/damaged PST files could be very complicated if you don’t know the reason behind its corruption. However, with the help of the ScanPST tool, most of the PST files can be repaired easily. In case, if the ScanPST utility doesn’t work, you can always opt for Kernel PST Repair that is specially designed to resolve PST Corruptions. It supports all MS Outlook versions: Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2002, and 2000.

Capture One Pro 20

We’ve all seen various advertisements pop up promoting photography
software claiming to be the next Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop. In many
cases, a clunky, poorly arranged user interface kills interest; and exceptions
to this rule often look somewhat plagiarised. Where new software is given a fair
chance, it usually fails to deliver as many features, it’s sluggish or it doesn’t
offer something Adobe hasn’t already thought of. It takes something pretty
compelling for me think “Hey, this is cool. This is really cool!” especially
when the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite is so heavily programmed into my
muscle memory. Capture One Pro 20 is impressive, feature rich and speedy
software.

Whether you’ve put 10,000 hours into the Adobe Creative
Cloud or you’re a complete beginner to photography and image editing as a whole,
I think you should try it. You may even save a buck or two in the process as it
might be all you ever need!

Capture One Pro 20 First Impressions

When I first installed the Capture One Pro 20 photography
editing software, I realised this is not a replacement for Adobe Photoshop. It doesn’t
try to be, but it does have to offer something Adobe cannot give for people
like myself to be interested in it. Many of us are already tied into a paid Adobe
subscription and are close to satisfied with what they offer.

Capture one pro 20 tips

Speed

Tutorials are short videos where we take you through Capture One's tools and features in less than 7 minutes. In this video I'll take you through some of the most notable new features in the latest version of Capture One Pro, version 20. My Capture One and Lightroom. The latest Capture One 20 Pro update makes it easier than ever to retouch your photos, compare your before and after, and much more.

When I installed Capture One Pro 20, I had been serendipitously researching the Sony a7r IV. Concerned editing the Sony a7r IV 61mp RAW files might challenge my system, out of pure curiosity, I tried a 150mp RAW file I had downloaded from the Phase One website. Immediately noticeable was how I could edit it at an almost identical speed compared to my Sony a7rII 42mp RAW files. From my limited understanding of the software, Capture One Pro 20 doesn’t render beyond what you view and so a camera’s megapixel count won’t matter much. If you preview a photograph in Adobe Lightroom Classic, it will do the “swirly thing” and several seconds later the result is shown in more detail; the bigger the photograph, the longer it takes. If you zoom into a photograph with Capture One Pro 20 you will not have to wait long at all. If you then move to another point of the photograph, it will render that i.e. it doesn’t render it all at once.

Capture One Pro 20 is far superior when initially importing
an album. Adobe Lightroom might seem slightly quicker once all of the previews have
been rendered, but it doesn’t suit my workflow and it’s all undone once
something in the develop module has been changed; previews have to be rebuilt
regardless of how small a change is.

Keywords from LR to Capture One Pro 20 Follow. Kelly Roy April 20, 2020 01:22; Edited; First I need to mention that I really didn’t know about keyword structuring until I made the decision to switch from LR to Capture One. So my keywording in LR had no structure. Capture One Pro 20 installation and usage won’t take a lot of time. Just visit the official website and create a personal account. It will take a few minutes and you’ll get a Capture One Pro trial for 30 days. When the registration is finished, go to the “Download” tab to choose one of the available versions of Capture One.

Colour

The colours in Capture One Pro 20 are immediately noticeable
and look more natural and similar to in camera JPGs. Ultimately it is
subjective, but everyone I’ve spoken to who has used this software for a while
prefers its colour, micro-contrast and speed. I think it’s why it has become an
industry standard for various photographic genres around the globe.

Software Compatibility, Capture One Pro 20 & Adobe Photoshop CC Round-trip

Adobe Lightroom Classic makes it easy to do quick edits and open the file up in Adobe Photshop CC 2020. If you’re concerned Capture One Pro 20 won’t play nice, fear not. A Capture One Pro 20 and Adobe Photoshop CC round-trip is as simple as with Adobe Lightroom Classic. You can export as TIFFs or PSDs so you will not lose dynamic range, detail, etc. and the colours can all be kept from the Capture One Pro 20 software. PSD files are recognised in the photo browser as well.

User Interface

Capture One Pro 20’s user interface isn’t a plagiarism of
Adobe’s, but you will be quite familiar with a lot of the tools e.g. curves,
layers, the histogram tool, etc.

It was a pretty fast and easy transition for me to change
from Adobe Lightroom Classic to Capture One Pro 20, but I recommend spending a
while configuring the user interface and getting comfortable with it. If
something doesn’t quite fit, the chances are it can be changed to your liking. For
example, by holding down the ‘alt’ key and dragging ‘left click’, you can move
the “tool tabs” around. This can be particularly useful if you edit images in a
certain order e.g. you start with cropping, then colour, then curves, and so
on.

Show Folder Hierarchy, Side Panels and
Shortcuts

You might like to use the “Migration” layout. It’s found by
pressing ‘alt + w + w’ and clicking “Migration”. Alternatively click ‘Window’
-> ‘Workspace’ -> ‘Migration’.

Personally, I prefer to use the ‘default’ workspace with the
tools swapped so they’re on the right side of the screen: press ‘ctrl + shift +
t’, alternatively you can go to ‘view’ -> ‘customise tools’ -> ‘place
right’.

By clicking the 9 little squares below the “import” button,
towards the top left of the screen, and stretching out the window so two photographs
are shown side by side, I can browse photographs to my liking. This method
shows how many stars a photograph has, whether it’s flagged and its filename. Capture
One Pro 20 can show photographs at the bottom of the screen, like Adobe
Lightroom, but I’ve grown to prefer this layout. “Ctrl + b” toggles the photo
browser.

Stars can be used for all kinds of things and not
necessarily to rate how good a photograph is. For example, if you always tag
your important ambient photographs in camera with two stars, and flash
photographs with three stars, it will make it easier to do composite edits. I
digress…

After you’ve imported your library (‘File’ -> ‘Import
Catalogue’ -> ‘Lightroom Catalogue’), I suggest you click the ‘Library’ tool
tab. On the side you will notice three dots, click ‘Show Folder Hierarchy’. This
displays the photograph structure like Adobe Lightroom. Unfortunately you will
have to click a sub-folder to see your photographs in the photo browser.
Clicking 2019 for example will show “0” by the side.

For future imports, you will probably want to change the default configuration. Go to ‘File’ -> ‘Import Images’ or “Ctrl + Shift + I” and where it says “Import To” -> “Destination” click the appropriate main folder where you store your photographs. You can copy and paste the following information for the “Sub Folder”:

This method creates separate folders upon importing, for example: C:Photographs20192019-122019-12-25. If you do all of this correctly, you can import photographs with either Adobe Lightroom or Capture One Pro 20, and you will not have to move folders around. If you import photographs in Capture One Pro 20, you will have to “synchronise” folders in Adobe Lightroom to recognise the new photographs. Once you get used to this software, it is unlikely you will want to use Adobe Lightroom though but during a transition period, it’s quite nice to be able to use both.

Capture One 20 Sony Price

I also go to preferences, exposure warning, enable shadow
warning and set that to “2”. I set exposure warning to “248”. For Sony camera
users, if you shoot with creative style set to neutral -2 on contrast and set a
custom zebra to 109, you will find your RGB histogram in camera is showing a
similar RAW clipping point (when you first see zebras stop pushing) to Capture
One Pro 20.

Tool Differences

As previously stated, you’ll be familiar with how a lot of
the tools operate but it’s worth understanding all of them and how they differ
from each other. For example, “process” can export one photograph and it be
used in the exact same way as the “export variant” tool. It is a lot more
sophisticated than that though and you can export a photograph in various
different file formats, so let’s pretend you want a 1024px for Instagram, a
full-resolution JPG for your client and a TIFF file saved on your server
somewhere, you can do that.

  • The HDR tool has been changed since Capture One
Pro 12 and it’s now more similar to Adobe Lightroom Classic.
  • The default distortion setup is different and I
find you have to play around with it a bit to mimic Adobe Lightroom. But as
with everything, you can save settings and you might find Capture One Pro 20 to
    be superior by default.
  • The most impressive tool I’ve found which really
sets it apart is with curves. The common “S” point curve to add contrast works
as you’d expect, but Capture One Pro 20 allows you to adjust “Luma curves”.
These are a lot like regular RGB curves except saturation isn’t interfered with
as much. I much prefer them, especially when working with landscape
    photographs.
  • Grain is far superior and more realistic.
  • Layers operate like Adobe Photoshop and a new
layer will allow you to adjust everything with sliders set to “0” (but it will
obviously keep settings from the layer below). If you’ve pushed a setting to
the maximum on a previous layer, e.g. exposure, you will like this.
Capture one pro 20 for nikon

The tools in general seem to work quicker and smoother than Adobe Lightroom. I also find that the white balance readings seem a bit more accurate. Type 5500K into Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw and try the same with Capture One Pro 20… you will see what I mean, haha.

Colours

Capture One Pro 20 has an impressive array of tools for adjusting colours. They’re intuitive and powerful.

There are numerous ways to adjust colours, including global hue, saturation and luminosity sliders. You can also use the “eye dropper” tool and click any point of a photograph, sample its colour and adjust that colour’s values. Separate “dials” allow you to split tone e.g. add a blue tint to shadows and a yellow tint to highlights.

All of this can be saved into a “style” so that you can apply these settings to other photographs. Settings can be “copied and pasted” to separate photographs as well.

Configuring ICC Colour Profiles with an X-Rite Colour Passport in Capture One Pro 20

Capture One Pro 20 Crack

At some point you’ll probably want to create an ICC profile
using an X-Rite Colour Passport. Creating an ICC profile based on an X-Rite
Colour Passport in Capture One Pro 20 is easy but it does require you to change
a few settings to begin with. Once you’ve set it up, you can do it much quicker
the next time around:

  • Open Capture One Pro 20
    • Open the “base characteristics” tab
    • – “icc profile” –> show all –> effects –> “no colour correction”
    • – curve –> “linear response”
      • + export as “variant”
    • – format –> tiff & 16 bit
    • – options –> uncompressed
    • – icc profile –> adobe RGB (1998)
    • + save to desktop
  • Close Capture One Pro 20
  • Open X-Rite colour calibration software and click “ICC TIFF”
    • – drag the file into the window
    • – export to desktop (the capture one folder has permissions disallowing it to be saved there by default)
      • + move the exported file into the “C:Program FilesPhase OneCapture One 20Color ProfilesDSLR” folder but name it similarly to the others e.g. SonyA7RM2-Generic –> SonyA7RM2-Happy
  • Relaunch Capture One Pro 20

My Capture One Pro 20 and Adobe Photoshop CC Workflow

Once I’d figured out the initial set up and got used to
that, I was ready to edit. I’ve had this software since the Beta now and I feel
quite familiar with it. A lot of my photography involves changing the white
balance, contrast, colours, lighting a bit (dodge and burn) and correcting
verticals, often to mimic a tilt and shift lens. Sometimes I will do more
complicated composite edits.

With all of the tool tabs and whatnot arranged in the order
I work, I don’t have to scroll up and down and back up and so on through the
tools, like I would with Adobe Lightroom Classic.

I now mostly use Luma curves instead of regular RGB curves,
as they interfere with saturation less.

The only major interference I’ve noticed with my workflow is
the key stoning tool. It doesn’t have the artificial intelligence Adobe
Lightroom Classic offers and sometimes it takes a little while longer to fix
converging verticals. This is probably mitigated by the fact the sliders are
all less sluggish than the tools found with Adobe Lightroom Classic. I realise
I sound like a broken record at this point, but it’s Adobe Lightroom Classic I
have a problem with, not Adobe Photoshop CC 2020. I still use Adobe Photoshop
CC 2020 for dodge and burning, and more complicated edits in general. For me,
it’s about using the right tool for the job.

Pricing

Capture One Pro 20’s pricing is nice. You can buy an
“eternal” license which means you do not need to pay a monthly fee. It will
include a certain amount of major updates for the software and after that you
will need to upgrade. If you upgrade your camera infrequently, it is likely
perfect for what you want. The other pricing system is rather like Adobe where
you pay a monthly fee but you will be guaranteed to have the latest and
greatest software.

Conclusion

Capture One Pro 20 For Nikon

The Capture One Pro 20 software makes Adobe Lightroom
obsolete in my workflow but it also encroaches somewhat on Adobe Photoshop’s
territory with the addition of layers; however, it doesn’t replace it nor does
it try to. If you are a photographer that does a lot of colour correction but
you use some of the more complicated tools (like liquify) sparingly, you may
find Capture One Pro 20 is all you need.

If there’s one thing you should take from this article, it is that Luma Curves, the superior colour rendition of Capture One Pro 20 and the faster rendering are the three biggest reasons as to why you should give Capture One Pro 20 a fair shot in your photography workflow. Its handling of colour and speed is unsurpassed.

Room for Improvement

  • Auto keystone adjustment is only applicable to
images captured with a Phase One IQ series digital back.

I’d like Phase One to talk with camera manufacturers
(especially Sony, for selfish reasons) and request orientation sensor
information (there’s already a level in most cameras, so it is possible) be
sent to EXIF (if it is not already). From there, I’d like Phase One to utilise this
information and have it be interpreted by their Capture One Pro 20 image
editing software.

In practical use, pretend you took a photograph and you had to point the camera up by 15 degrees to include buildings, but it left wonky verticals. The software could then correct the converging verticals based on the information provided in the EXIF data. Orientation sensors are not accurate to within 0.00001 degrees, but they are precise enough to get the ball rolling. Another practical example would be to correct a tilted horizon from a rushed photograph.

The second—unrelated to EXIF data—autocorrect keystone option
I’d like to see is the Adobe Lightroom method, where the image is analysed and
corrected accordingly.

  • Unfortunately you cannot click a folder containing multiple folders, and it shows all of the photographs in the photo browser. You will have to click a sub-folder to see them.
  • You cannot geotag photographs like you can with Adobe Lightroom. I often use my smartwatch’s GPX files.

Please note that none of these are deal breakers at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LoopBack framework

The LoopBack framework is a set of Node.js modules that you can use independently or together to quickly build REST APIs.

A LoopBack application interacts with data sources through the LoopBack model API, available locally within Node.js, remotely over REST, and via native client APIs foriOS, Android, and HTML5. Using these APIs, apps can query databases, store data, upload files, send emails, create push notifications, register users, and perform other actions provided by data sources and services.

Clients can call LoopBack APIs directly using Strong Remoting, a pluggable transport layer that enables you to provide backend APIs over REST, WebSockets, and other transports.

The following diagram illustrates key LoopBack modules, how they are related, and their dependencies.

File Sumo 1 1

Today, I am going to share a writeup for the boot2root challenge of the Vulnhub machine “Sumo: 1”. It was an intermediate box based on the Linux machine. The goal for this machine is to read the flag file Download From Here Penetration Testing Methodology Network Scanning Netdiscover scan Nmap Scan Enumeration Enumerating HTTP service. Continue reading →. Sumo (Japanese: 相撲, Hepburn: sumō, lit. 'striking one another') is a form of competitive full-contact wrestling where a rikishi (wrestler) attempts to force his opponent out of a circular ring or into touching the ground with any body part other than the soles of his feet (usually by throwing, shoving or pushing him down). Sumo originated in Japan, the only country where it is.

CARLA has developed a co-simulation feature with SUMO. This allows to distribute the tasks at will, and exploit the capabilities of each simulation in favour of the user.

  • Run a custom co-simulation

Requisites

First and foremost, it is necessary to install SUMO to run the co-simulation. Building from source is recommended over a simple installation, as there are new features and fixes that will improve the co-simulation.

Once that is done, set the SUMO environment variable.

SUMO is ready to run the co-simulations. There are some examples in Co-Simulation/Sumo/examples for Town01, Town04, and Town05. These .sumocfg files describe the configuration of the simulation (e.g., net, routes, vehicle types...). Use one of these to test the co-simulation. The script has different options that are detailed below. For the time being, let's run a simple example for Town04.

File sumo 1 1/4

Run a CARLA simulation with Town04.

Then, run the SUMO co-simulation example.

Run a custom co-simulation

File Sumo 1 1

Create carla vtypes

With the script Co-Simulation/Sumo/util/create_sumo_vtypes.py the user can create sumo vtypes, the equivalent to CARLA blueprints, based on the CARLA blueprint library.

  • --carla-host(default: 127.0.0.1) — IP of the carla host server.
  • --carla-port(default: 2000) — TCP port to listen to.
  • --output-file(default: carlavtypes.rou.xml) — The generated file containing the vtypes.

This script uses the information stored in data/vtypes.json to create the SUMO vtypes. These can be modified by editing said file.

Warning

A CARLA simulation must be running to execute the script.

Create the SUMO net

The recommended way to create a SUMO net that synchronizes with CARLA is using the script Co-Simulation/Sumo/util/netconvert_carla.py. This will draw on the netconvert tool provided by SUMO. In order to run the script, some arguments are needed.

  • xodr_file — OpenDRIVE file .xodr.
  • --output'(default:net.net.xml) — output file .net.xml.
  • --guess-tls(default:false) — SUMO can set traffic lights only for specific lanes in a road, but CARLA can't. If set to True, SUMO will not differenciate traffic lights for specific lanes, and these will be in sync with CARLA.

The output of the script will be a .net.xml that can be edited using NETEDIT. Use it to edit the routes, add demand, and eventually, prepare a simulation that can be saved as .sumocfg.

The examples provided may be helpful during this process. Take a look at Co-Simulation/Sumo/examples. For every example.sumocfg there are several related files under the same name. All of them comprise a co-simulation example.

Run the synchronization

Once a simulation is ready and saved as a .sumocfg, it is ready to run. There are some optional parameters to change the settings of the co-simulation.

  • sumo_cfg_file — The SUMO configuration file.
  • --carla-host(default: 127.0.0.1) — IP of the carla host server
  • --carla-port(default: 2000) — TCP port to listen to
  • --sumo-host(default: 127.0.0.1) — IP of the SUMO host server.
  • --sumo-port(default: 8813) — TCP port to listen to.
  • --sumo-gui — Open a window to visualize the gui version of SUMO.
  • --step-length(default: 0.05s) — Set fixed delta seconds for the simulation time-step.
  • --sync-vehicle-lights(default: False) — Synchronize vehicle lights.
  • --sync-vehicle-color(default: False) — Synchronize vehicle color.
  • --sync-vehicle-all(default: False) — Synchronize all vehicle properties.
  • --tls-manager(default: none) — Choose which simulator should manage the traffic lights. The other will update those accordingly. The options are carla, sumo, and none. If none is chosen, traffic lights will not be synchronized. Each vehicle would only obey the traffic lights in the simulator that spawn it.

Warning

To stop the co-simulation, press Ctrl+C in the terminal that run the script.

Spawn NPCs controlled by SUMO

The co-simulation with SUMO makes for an additional feature. Vehicles can be spawned in CARLA through SUMO, and managed by the later as the Traffi Manager would do.

The script spawn_npc_sumo.py is almost equivalent to the already-known spawn_npc.py. This script automatically generates a SUMO network in a temporal folder, based on the active town in CARLA. The script will create random routes and let the vehicles roam around.

As the script runs a synchronous simulation, and spawns vehicles in it, the arguments are the same that appear in run_synchronization.py and spawn_npc.py.

  • --host(default: 127.0.0.1) — IP of the host server.
  • --port(default: 2000) — TCP port to listen to.
  • -n,--number-of-vehicles(default: 10) — Number of vehicles spawned.
  • --safe — Avoid spawning vehicles prone to accidents.
  • --filterv(default: 'vehicle.')* — Filter the blueprint of the vehicles spawned.
  • --sumo-gui — Open a window to visualize SUMO.
  • --step-length(default: 0.05s) — Set fixed delta seconds for the simulation time-step.
  • --sync-vehicle-lights(default: False) — Synchronize vehicle lights state.
  • --sync-vehicle-color(default: False) — Synchronize vehicle color.
  • --sync-vehicle-all(default: False) — Synchronize all vehicle properties.
  • --tls-manager(default: none) — Choose which simulator will change the traffic lights' state. The other will update them accordingly. If none, traffic lights will not be synchronized.

That is all there is so far, regarding for the SUMO co-simulation with CARLA.
